Feeling depressed or sad is a natural part of life. People disappoint us, things go wrong, we lose the people we love or the dreams we have valued. When you feel depressed stretches for weeks or months or occurs frequently and interferes with your ability to interact with people and enjoy your life, you are probably experiencing some form of depression. Whenever you can access information, medical professionals and support networks around you, even a serious depression is a highly treatable condition. 1 But no matter what, take matters into your own hands and take action if you are depressed.

Diagnosis and treatment of depression Look for signs of depression.

If you have not yet sought help for your depression, it is vital that you do so and do not try to go through this alone. There are many common symptoms associated with depression. If you identify with one or more of the ones listed below, consult your doctor. Signs of depression include: An inability to function normally in daily life. Inability to enjoy activities that he once loved, such as reading, playing video games, drawing, etc. Lethargy, fatigue and the feeling that doing things requires a lot of energy. Persistent sadness, including fits of uncontrollable or easily triggered crying, feelings of anxiety or emptiness. Feeling sad, sad and depressed constantly during a period of at least two weeks.
