Escitalopram (Lexapro, Cipralex)

What is depression? – Depression Definition

Depression is basically when your life does not match what you think it should be, and you feel powerless to change it.

Dr. Martin Seligman explains that depression is a mentality that is easy to change.

There are both self-destructive thought patterns and self-reinforcing thought patterns.

People feel depressed when they: think that problems are permanent (forever), generalized (can not change) and personal (means there is something wrong with them).

Examples:

Example 1: I want to have a loving relationship, but I have trouble finding the right partners and I do not think I can ever find them.

Example 3: My parents should accept me as I am, but they do not and I can not do anything to change it.

People try different treatments to control feelings like yoga for depression, meditation, energetic healing and many other modalities.

I show people how this permanent, generalized and personal thinking is completely false, based on its history, and we choose a new path for life. The amazing thing is that you can always change your physical reality (situation) or change your perspective.

Sometimes we feel that we do not have options, to change our work, to change our body, to change the type of people we attract in our lives, etc. However, I have found that when people really want to succeed, achieve and achieve their goals, they almost always find ways.

Sometimes it takes many, many attempts to get what we want, but what I discovered is that the people who keep trying, almost always reach their goal. They do it through the empowerment of beliefs, hard work, correct strategies, patience, faith and working together with people.

Change your perspective

In my experience, the number one reason why people feel depressed is because they think they are not acceptable as they are. In other words, they only feel good about themselves (basically, they only have high self-esteem) if they act in a certain way or achieve certain goals.

This usually happens when important people in the life of someone who have good intentions only praise them when they succeed or act in a certain way. For example, parents who feel very proud when their children get good grades and act very angry when their children get bad grades.

The child usually develops a belief that he needs to succeed in feeling accepted, loved and meaningful.

When I show people different angles and new perspectives, they feel alive, fully energized and no longer feel depressed.

    1. This is so dumb. Have you ever been depressed? It's not about life sucking at all, you can have an amazing life and everything you need but sometimes the fog decends, you feel slow and disconnected from the world, hopeless. You can even remember the happy person you used to be but just can't work out how to get back there. You don't want to eat or move, your thoughts are either empty or racing or sometimes strangely both things at the same time.
What you are describing is dissatisfaction not depression.
Depression is real and it happens and you are spreading dangerous information.
People who watch this and are convinced that depression is just a mindset just adds to the stigma of mental illness.
You aren't a doctor or a psychologist so you really shouldn't be spouting off this rubbish as if you know anything because you don't.
Just saying you can fix someone fast while snapping your fingers doesn't qualify you to heal depression.

    2. Thank you Giovanni for letting us know about these symptoms, it is good to know that there is a natural way to make things better!
