13 SIGNS OF DEPRESSION (TO RECOGNIZE IN OTHERS)

    1. I have a question about the whole memory and conversation thing: Sometimes when I’m talking to someone they’ll say something and a couple of the words will seem weirdly incoherent and so I’ll say “What?” ant they’ll say it again but by the time they get to the part that was incoherent my brain has processed it and I know what it was. Is slowly processing words a sign?

    2. So I have chronic depression and I can relate to most of these.. some of these I didn't even know it was a sign of depression…

    3. I completely relate to all of this with having BP2/ADHD, and I totally get the "masking up" in front of ppl but falling flat when they turn around bc your face is just too tired to smile and it literally hurts your brain to do so. Also, I'm so glad you said that you experience temp fluctuations, bc I thought (&my dr. thought) this was different! When I'm in depression I actually took my temp and it was 94*-95* and I was wearing 3 pair of sweat pants, a house coat and sweat shirt and jacket. I still had visible chills and goosebumps! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to experience this phenomenon. Thank you for all your positivity and research bc it helps other BPs.

    4. This was an amazing video. I too blog (https://www.chronicallystrong.com) and vlog on my channel about Mental Health. I also speak on other chronic conditions as well. I’ve noticed a lot of the trends you’ve spoken about in myself too! Of course I have been diagnosed with depression. I appreciate you speaking on this topic. Hope we have the ability to connect more in the future!

    5. Thank you for posting Lizzie! I have had depression too, sometimes for no apparent reason. I saw an article that certain kinds of tea can help get rid of or prevent it.

    6. Schizophrenics find it hard to do chores because we have so little energy, and hygiene goes down too. We'll only take a shower once a week or something. If you go on Reddit/schizophrenia we are always complaining about hygiene.

    7. When the voices are there, I don't feel like getting together with other people. I want to go out today, but there is a dense fog warning. When I'm really tired, I get number 7, people will be talking and I totally will be spacey and not understand. This would have helped my brother? Spacey is a term my good friend used that also had schizophrenia. My brother would have found your channel if it were around in 2005? He was always good with computers.

    8. i notice when i have depression i will laugh more easily and have random laughing fits. feels like my body taking over and saying "we need this"

    9. I don’t know how I found you on here, but I am so thankful that I did. Thank you for this, and for all your videos<3 They make me feel like I’m not alone, and they put words to the thoughts in my head that I cannot express.

    10. I can’t speak for bipolar but I experienced a lot of these symptoms when I was depressed a few years ago. I remember that I had lost everything and I lost all my energy, slept a lot, and couldn’t feel happy ever. I didn’t have all those symptoms but it was horrible. I can’t stress enough to get help if you’re depressed. I could not afford help when I went through depression and that was awful.

    11. Could it be that your religion planted the seed of your mental health struggles when you were younger? Being told your a sinner and you cant do this and that, probably had something to do with it. Theres simple minds who fit right in to the religious mold, then theres the wanderers who always think and question everything, which caused an inner battle inside you. I aint doctor phil. Just an ex member of a church

    12. I think "mental disorders" became mental disorders because each medical profession when it was forming they all invented their own diseases or disorders and then it was like they had the copyright to that disease or disorder. They had no clue at the time(and still don't) that it was symptoms originating from physical illness of the adrenals, thyroid, parathyroids, lymph system, and kidneys, and a low chronic aseptic encephalitis of the brain, and that the cause of 98% of illness originates from incorrect living. Non-linear dynamical systems in nature(matter, galaxies, life, ecosystems, etc) are ordered systems that originate from chaos(strange attractors) and every time humans do something where they think they know better they unknowingly send the system back into chaos(disorder, degeneration, dis-ease). The earth itself looks like it has tumors growing all over it when you look at it on google earth anywhere there's cities, agriculture, logging, urban sprawl, mining, and roads.

    13. I'm thankful my depressive episodes pretty much only last a day at a time. I'll admit they're bad, but they always go away after a night of sleep. For some reason my brain just stops producing dopamine for a day but then starts again. If that feeling never ended….I'd hate to think of living that way forever. It's an emotional grief that seems worst than death. It's evil.

    14. I love you Ms. Lizzie, Yeah I know its not possible, it will never happen but what I believe that will always happen is loving you.
